You will be responsible for working with our councils and staff to develop programming, conceptualize event promotions, meeting logistics, and onsite event execution. This senior position reports to the executive director. Serves as staff liaison to association’s council. Responsible for development of member programs and content for educational events utilizing input from council members. Responsible for the coordination and administration of all association events, meeting logistics including RFP’s for site inspections, BEO’s, and contract negotiation. Work with marketing team to create event promotions, collaborate on marketing strategy and write promotional copy for programs (print and electronic). Prepare and manage budgets.
BA or equivalent, or work experience in related field. Demonstrated ability to work with others to complete multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. Proven computer, and written and verbal communications skills. Must be a high-energy person, willing to take on new challenges, with good problem-solving ability and a strong commitment to customer service. Experience in event planning is required. Able to execute programs on-time and within budget with little direct supervision.
Strong leadership capabilities and ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers. Must have effectively managed volunteer committees and vendors to accomplish established objectives. Strong reasoning ability and negotiating skills. Understanding of computer databases and report generations (MAC preferred). A high-energy person with demonstrated project management skills and the ability to think out of the box to service members.
