We’re actively seeking a Professional Communities Manager to join the Communities Experience department in the Experience division!
Professional Communities Manager Core Job Responsibilities
Monitoring professional chapter operational health and activities.
Providing customer support and guidance to volunteer professional chapter leaders.
Developing and distributing information and resources for professional chapter leaders, including regular emails, monthly e-newsletters, informational webinars, operational guides and web content.
Improving current programs and developing new initiatives that enhance the AMA professional chapter leader user experience.
Assisting in the planning and execution of the annual Leadership Summit training conference, including budget management, content coordination, registration promotion, and on-site organization.
Managing the Professional Chapters Council, including providing council members with resources to complete assigned tasks and coordinating council meetings.
Completing other special projects as assigned.
What You Have
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university.
At least 3 + years of work experience in an association or non-profit organization.
Proficiency in MS Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Strong written and verbal communication, organization, note taking and multitasking skills.
Ability to travel approximately 5 times a year (typically 2-5 days with some weekends).
What You May Also Have
Prior experience working with association chapters preferred.
Prior volunteer management experience preferred.
Familiarity with website editing and database management software (WordPress, Salesforce).
Familiarity with online collaboration tools (G Suite, Asana).
Familiarity with social media and digital applications (Twitter, Facebook, Guidebook).
Familiarity with email editing and design tools (Dreamweaver, Canva).

The Communities Experience Team and the AMA
The Communities Experience team delivers an enhanced user experience that is critical to the success of the AMA. We’re looking for someone to join our service-oriented team as we enthusiastically advance the activities of volunteer leaders that are the lifeblood of the AMA community.
As a member of the AMA Communities team, the Professional Communities Manager represents the perspective of the approximately 1200 board members who manage the AMA’s 70+ professional chapters that deliver value to local marketers. This role also serves as the primary liaison for the 12-member Professional Chapters Council, a volunteer advisory council that provides vital strategic advice and assists the AMA in supporting professional chapter leaders and members.
In addition to providing exceptional support to professional chapter leaders today, the Professional Communities Manager will work closely with the Communities Experience team and other teams across the AMA to help identify and implement future community models that best meet the ever-evolving needs of professional marketers.
