The NACD Manager, Communications provides communications support for the Association specifically in the creation and implementation of: regular communications to the membership via weekly e-newsletters / email notices, maintenance of an online membership directory, and development of marketing materials for programs/services via website as well as other social technologies and hard copy brochures. The position also supports the meetings team with online presence marketing.
Communications Responsibilities: The manager will support the Association’s member communications activities to effectively spread the association’s message. This position will have responsibility for producing regular communications to the membership via a variety of methods and mechanisms. He/she will be forward thinking, have strong written and oral communications skills, customer service and will also have proven Web Content Management experience.
Provide input to and management of annual strategic communication plan for the association and its programs in support of the association’s strategic plan.
Manage all Communications to Membership
Online Membership Directory management and oversee vendor who sells advertising
Manage communication calendar / Membership email-blasts and mailings
Association brand manager / Design and Print management
Manage association corporate and marketing collateral design, text and printing
Create and implement all event promotions/marketing
Manage relationship with external marketing design vendors, printers
Create and deploy all meeting Apps
Overall management of Association website and content; manage relationship with website host and integration with membership database
Manage support issues with database host as related to communications and marketing
Support secondary advocacy website implementation and execution
Surveys and Evaluations deployment
Foster and maintain mutually beneficial relationships in terms of marketing/communications with new and existing strategic partners and corporate sponsors
Manage social media strategy; work with staff and/or outside vendor to implement; coordinate with Public Relations manager
3-5 years’ experience, bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, journalism or marketing.
Excellent written and in person communication skills
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
Experience with developing and delivering results-oriented marketing campaigns.
A self-motivated work ethic.
Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
Ability to prioritize and manage a wide variety of tasks under deadline.
Some travel is required.
