This position is responsible for the operation of the Districts which provide services to members in a specific areas. Oversees all duties related to developing and coordinating district events, provide support to Executive Committee and other Committees as assigned. The position also designs and executes membership retention and recruiting efforts. The majority of the work will be in the Richmond & Charlottesville Regions with occasional travel to other parts of Virginia. Communication Skills: Market and speak to the value of the organization. Read, analyze, and interpret common industry related journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Quickly respond to inquiries from members, or members of the business/education community; write articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format; and to effectively market and present information to management, clients, external groups, and/or the board of directors.
Human Relations Skills: Highly developed verbal skills are required to communicate technical concepts and ideas in individual and groups. External groups may include citizens, businesses, governing boards, regulatory agencies, and local/state government. Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility is important to job success. Ability to influence the behavior of others and use mediation techniques for dealing with conflict and disagreements of a sensitive and emotional nature is important.
Leadership Skills: Responsible for facilitation and motivating a group of volunteer individuals within a functional area toward the accomplishment of goals. Must inspire others through coaching, counseling, facilitating group processes, communicating organizational vision, gaining respect and having ideas accepted by others. Establish consensus and build collaboration within or between work groups.
Computer Skills: Requires a demonstrated operating knowledge of computers including an intermediate level ability with Word, Excel, Outlook and various social media.

The position entails frequent trips to a wide variety of locations within the Districts occasionally on short notice, as well as occasional trips to other locations for meetings, events and planning. A valid driver's license is required.
Essential Duties include: •Ability to work independently on multiple assignments, paying attention to details on a regular basis. •Help design and market programs of interest including events, seminars, and social engagement. •Ability to work in Word, Excel and other social media platforms to manage assignments. •Work with Executive Committees on programming, events, and budgets. •Attend and manage monthly events which may start after 5 pm or before 7:30 am. •Regularly visit with current members, determine core needs and assist in providing access to those needs. •Promote the association’s benefits clearly and concisely. •Work with a team of others on communications, advocacy, and workforce development. •Identify business prospects and potential sponsors to support the organization. •Assist at conventions and other meetings as needed. •Ability to travel regions independently and occasionally around the state as needed. •Other duties as assigned.
