Reporting to the Vice President, Communications, the incumbent supports the communications, outreach, and marketing functions for the association.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Writes copy, edits, proofreads, or designs CMAA communications, marketing, and publishing products, including but not limited to newsletters, press releases, social media and email campaigns, brochures, white papers, articles, correspondence, speeches, and conference presentations.
Executes tasks related to marketing and promotion of the association’s national events, including the Capital Projects Symposium, the National Conference & Trade Show and other events.
Prepares scripts and A/V materials, as directed by the vice president.
Monitors the association’s presence in social media, develops content postings, and helps sustain a consistent CMAA strategy for using social media tools to advance the mission and vision of CMAA.
Prepares materials to promote the Certified Construction Manager program.
Prepares materials for use by regional chapters, student chapters, and educational institutions
Creating and maintaining content for the association’s website on online community(ies), in collaboration with other CMAA staff teams.
Other duties may be assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required with major in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field.
Two to three years’ experience as a member of a communications and marketing team or department, including writing, editing and graphic design. Experience in a non-profit professional society or trade association preferred.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Experience with social media and online communities.
Well organized, detail-oriented, and able to drive projects through completion.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Mid-level experience in using Adobe InDesign preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Willingness to advance continued professional development.
Training will be provided in the use of CMAA’s Content Management System (CMS).
