The Manager, Instructional Design will support the planning and development of NAHB’s educational products. Responsibilities include project management, building and maintaining vendor and contractor relationships, and internal and external communications. The manager will apply sound instructional design principles, and optimize quality assurance and project management best practices in the development, execution, and implementation of products. The manager will also provide budget support, as needed, and give input into the development of annual capital budget for course development and revision projects. Responsibilities also include reviewing and updating the processes and procedures used to create and revise courses to ensure maximum speed to market.
Qualified candidates must have strong project management and oral and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to handle multiple projects and demonstrate great attention to detail. He/ she will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with various stakeholders. Expertise with Learning Management Systems, project management tools, and other technologies that support content development for live and eLearning formats is required. Knowledge of Adobe Captivate and Adobe Creative Cloud is strongly preferred. Knowledge of database systems is a plus. Candidates should also have an understanding of effective adult learning principles.
A minimum of five years of experience in curriculum development and instructional design is required. Experience with associations, educational organizations, boards and volunteers, and government agencies is a plus. A bachelor’s degree in education, project management, instructional design, communications, or the equivalent in education and experience, is required.
