The Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA) is searching for an innovative and enthusiastic Member Relations Manager to join our team. This position is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to membership growth and demonstrates HIDA’s commitment to expanding member services offerings.
The Member Relations Manager is a sales and account management position. This professional plays an instrumental role in engaging HIDA member distributors and prospective members by recruiting new members, retaining current members and increasing members’ participation in HIDA events and programs.
Recruit new HIDA members:
Identify qualified prospects
Engage the right decision-makers
Facilitate sales presentations and closing sales
Implement schedule of email “drip” campaign to members and prospects
Retain current Members through activities including:
Develop and execute an account management strategy to ensure value of HIDA membership is widely known within members’ management structure
Act as members’ point of contact within HIDA
Facilitate annual HIDA membership reviews with all Members annually
Monitor and increase members’ use of HIDA resources and participation in HIDA events:
Support all aspects of member engagement councils.
Proactively promote member participation in HIDA events such as Executive Conference, and the Streamlining Healthcare Conference
Support Streamlining Healthcare Conference attendance strategies, internal calling campaigns and implementation of the Reverse Expo and Executive Business Exchange
College degree or equivalent preferred
A minimum of two years of experience in Strategic Accounts, Corporate Relations, Vendor Relations, or Member Sales
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of the medical products, markets and/or related distribution industry preferred
Track record of successful member development sales or sales of other intangible products and services
Ability to build relationships and to sell, both by phone and in person, to senior-level executives
Strong project management skills: very organized and detail-oriented, ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines
Strong written and oral communication abilities including presentation skills
Strong customer service orientation
Competency with MS Office and database applications
Ability to work as a team player and collaborate with members, staff, and external contacts
General office. Travel up to 5-6 times per year.
