The American Dental Association is dedicated to promoting the public's health through its initiatives in research, education, advocacy, public awareness and the development of standards. We have an exciting opportunity for a Director, National Commission on Recognition of Dental Specialties and Certifying Boards.
This position directs the operations of the ADA National Commission on Recognition of Dental Specialties and Certifying Boards and supports the work of the Board of the Commissioners. The director contributes expertise in the formation and implementation of dental specialty- related policies and standards, researches, analyzes and writes policy reports, is responsible for minutes and action minutes, and implements policies and activities as directed by the National Commission. The director supports the development and implementation of the Commission's strategic plan through analysis of health professions education, practice, recognition, and certification trends. The director maintains on-going communication with the communities of interest, particularly the leadership of the Association, the Council on Dental Education and Licensure, recognized dental specialty organizations and certifying boards.
A minimum of 10 years of experience with education, practice, recognition and certification processes for health professions.
Progressive experience in healthcare organization, professional membership organization, certifying board or accrediting agency; experience managing boards and committees.
Experience with developing and managing budgets.
In-depth knowledge of quality assurance standards and processes for specialty recognition and certification of individuals in the healthcare professions.
Knowledge of association structures, work flow and operational procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal; critical thinking and analytic skills.
Critical thinking, planning and organizing.
Train and manage volunteers, develop and monitor budgets, manage multiple projects at the same time.
