The College is currently seeking a Program Director for our Houston, TX office. (ACOG) is in the process of becoming a survey organization in Texas to verify levels of maternal care for hospitals, per regulations from the Texas Office of Emergency Medical Services/Trauma Systems Coordination. ACOG is seeking a Program Director to manage all aspects of ACOG's Texas Levels of Maternal Care Verification Program, including maintaining office operations, managing surveyor recruitment, training, and site visits, collaborating with program partners, and ensuring all program components are compliant with state regulations. The Program Director will work under the general direction of the Houston-based Medical Director with oversight from the national ACOG office and will oversee one staff member.
Work with Medical Director and ACOG National to set objectives and long-term goals for the program.
Manage program budget.
Ensure all program components are compliant with Texas regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, surveyor requirements, site visit process, program materials, and reportin
Serve as the main point of contact for communication with the Texas Office of Emergency Medical Services/Trauma Systems Coordination, partner organizations, and perinatal regional representatives.
Manage surveyor recruitment and training. Responsible for the initial appointment and reappointment of surveyors.
Develop procedures for and record keeping of the credentialing of survey staff. Work with ACOG National to review conflict of interest disclosures.
Manage all aspects of site visits:
Serve as the main point of contact for hospitals.
Schedule the site visits, based on surveyor requirements and hospital staff availability.
Coordinate travel for the survey teams. Reserve hotel rooms and transportation, as needed. Complete and submit the paperwork for surveyors' honoraria and expense forms.
Coordinate the site visit schedule and review process with the hospitals. Manage forms/paperwork and work with ACOG National to draft contracts and issue invoices.
Oversee the reporting process. Thoroughly review all team reports for clinical content, consistency with ACOG guidelines, and compliance with state regulations.
Maintain and update standardized materials for surveyor use.
Develop and maintain general office procedures and confidentiality of records including the appropriate safeguarding and communication of facility-related information.
Bachelor of science degree in nursing required; Master's degree in nursing, healthcare quality, or healthcare administration highly preferred
Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience; Minimum three (3) years of quality improvement leadership, such as a nursing manager, or oversight in the areas of patient safety, quality improvement, or clinical improvement.
In-depth knowledge of hospital procedures and quality improvement care and experience monitoring and maintaining compliance with state regulations
Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
