The Account Manager will be responsible for working with our association clients’ Board of Directors and committees to facilitate development and achievement of our clients’ mission and goals. The position will provide sound financial management, grow and retain members, manage meetings, and provide overall leadership and general supervision for daily operations of the clients assigned.
This management-level position supports a candidate looking to showcase their proven association management and project management acumen. Seeking a highly organized and detail oriented individual who can successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Must be a customer-service oriented team player who is a quick learner and can work across functions to achieve goals.
Responsible for providing direction and leadership to volunteers and staff on day-to-day operations and strategic planning.
Develops and implements strategic goals and objectives of association clients. Ensures consistent and timely progress is being made on all initiatives.
Serves as the chief staff liaison to the board and committees. Develops agendas and background material for regularly scheduled calls and meetings.
Responsible for conference program and webinar development and execution working with a meeting planner and marketing and communications department.
Manages clients’ project work utilizing departmental staff and external resources. Develops timelines and processes. Implements client work.
Develops the annual budget and works with the finance department on the timely issuance of financials.
Reports client progress to SAMI Chief Operation Officer.
Travels to meetings to provide staff support to client board and committee meetings and educational programs.
Minimum of five years of association management experience.
Bachelor’s degree and/or CAE preferred.
Experience in project management and working with boards and committees.
Medical society management experience a plus.
Competent in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; familiar with association management software.
Able to travel approximately 5%.
