Our client, a non-profit association in Washington, DC, is seeking a resourceful and customer service focused Human Resources professional to provide day-to-day HR Generalist support and administration. This will be an exciting opportunity for you to provide outstanding HR support and service as well as coordinate robust organizational programs regarding talent management, engagement and employee wellness.
As the Human Resources Manager, you will coordinate and administer a diverse array of HR activities for the organization including:
Benefits & Payroll Administration – Coordinate open enrollment, process benefits and personnel changes, manage salary administration, administer paid leave programs as well assisting in the design and implementation of employee wellness programs.
Recruitment – Identify skills, abilities and qualifications needed for positions and create job descriptions; design job ads, develop sourcing strategies, screen resumes, conduct phone and in-person interviews, background checks, and make employment offers.
HR Compliance – Ensure policies, procedures and regulatory reporting are current, advise management on compliance and policy requirements affecting employees, maintain employee handbook, coordinate safety programs.
Employee Relations – Advise management on appropriate resolution for ER issues, conduct investigations, prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and handle employee related inquiries.
Employee Performance, Development and Retention – Plan and conduct new employee orientation programs, administer performance management program, coordinate employee professional development and training programs.
Office Support- Handle office coordination items including incoming/outgoing mail and packages, facilities/office management and office equipment maintenance.
As the ideal candidate for our client, you’ll be an early career HR professional with a degree in HR, Business or related field (or equivalent experience) AND three (3) to five (5) years of experience providing HR support in the areas described above.
You may have previously been a Coordinator, Generalist or even an experienced HR Assistant who is looking to take the next step.
Most importantly, you will be a reliable, organized and resourceful professional who is able to balance outstanding customer service with managing company needs. You will be an excellent communicator who is able to foster effective, collaborative relationships with business partners and employees all levels throughout the company.
