The American Society for Radiation Oncology, ASTRO, is looking for an individual with at least 7 years of experience in guidelines development or similar work with evidence based documents to manage the Society’s processes and procedures for producing clinical practice statements. Major responsibilities include managing projects from original concept through final implementation ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards; serving as subject matter expert during the development process by critically evaluating published scientific literature, classifying published research, managing study information and extracted data and preparing systematic reviews for volunteer work groups. This position will also involve managing the recruitment, training and participation of volunteers; working with volunteers to develop derivative products and produce scholarly works that aid in the dissemination and adoption of ASTRO’s clinical practice statements and working collaboratively with other ASTRO departments to facilitate the dissemination and utilization of our clinical practice statements.

Successful candidates will have:
Master’s Degree or equivalent training in epidemiology, research, social sciences, or related experience. A minimum of seven years of related work experience, in guideline development, or similar, preferred.
Excellent analytic and writing skills.
Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong management skills with the ability to balance and manage multiple projects and staff and meet critical deadlines.
Coaching, and mentoring skills, with the ability to supervise and direct the work of others.
Extensive experience in the use of systematic review software necessary to perform data collection, analysis, and imputation.
Significant experience with literature searching methods and programs (e.g. MedLine, PubMed).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of statistical methodology and statistical software packages.
