The American Association for Justice (AAJ ®), formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA®), is seeking to fill a Senior Graphic Designer position in the Marketing Department to lead the design and development of materials to market and strategically position the association’s educational programs, publications, membership, and advocacy efforts. We are looking for someone with a track record of creating eye-catching visuals which will captivate members and customers alike. Core skills necessary for this job include an ability to handle multiple projects, work in a customer service-driven environment, meet deadlines, communicate clearly, and work in partnership with other department and association team members.

AAJ is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to:
Oversee all design projects, from conception to delivery and manage production of all materials that promote AAJ products, services, and membership for both print and digital mediums;
Design original pieces, including illustrations and infographics;
Maintain brand consistency throughout all AAJ design and marketing campaigns;
Work with marketing team to develop and produce visual campaigns that meet sales goals, budget restrictions, and branding requirements;
Manage and provide day-to-day supervisory oversight of internal design team to ensure quality design work, and oversee the work of freelance artists, designers, photographers, etc.
Coach marketing team on design concepts.

Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, graphic design, or related field of study.
Minimum 5 years of experience in graphic design and print production.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience supervising other designers and members of creative services team, including copywriters, in a direct reporting relationship is required.
Experience in direct responsibility of brand management.
Strong art direction, design, negotiation, and project management skills are required, along with extensive experience with printing processes.
Proficiency with image editing and design software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Intermediate proficiency in web media and design is required.
Budget responsibility in a management role is required.
Experience managing vendor relationships with printers, photographers/illustrators, service bureaus, paper merchants, and other vendors.
Association and/or agency experience is preferred.
