The Water Environment Federation is seeking a Manager for the Students and Young Professionals program. The Students and Young Professionals Manager will serve as the liaison to the Young Professionals Committee and WEF Student Chapters, as well as coordinator and facilitator for planning a variety of Students & Young Professionals (S&YP) activities. The manager will engage with WEF staff, WEF volunteer leaders, committee members, contractors, vendors, and WEF members.
Serves as main liaison to the Students & Young Professionals (SYP) committee.
Plans, executes, coordinates and administers all SYP and Student Chapter activities at the WEF annual conference WEFTEC and Midyear meeting.
Partnering with AWWA, plans and executes annual summit for young professionals in the water industry.
Assists the Association Engagement team with Member Association (MA) activities and seeks opportunities to engage YPs in WEF and MA activities.
Ensures all program materials and website information are current, accurate, and programs are adequately promoted through WEF publications and the website.
Event/meetings are within budget, details and materials are planned, and work is executed to meet deadlines and objectives.
Databases and other forms of electronic documentation and tracking are accurate and reports meet needs and are timely.
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
4+ years relevant experience required.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, database management and web content management.
Detail oriented and accurate with excellent organizational skills and people/troubleshooting skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor volunteer teams, oversee multiple fast-paced projects, and manage effectively under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, identify and react to potential problems, and meet deadlines.
Strong customer service orientation; experience working with volunteer groups preferred.
Familiar with budgets and nonprofit management.
Strong written and verbal skills.
Ability to achieve individual goals in a teamwork environment.
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
