The Managing Director is responsible for implementation of policies set by the Board of Directors and the HCEA Strategic Plan, as well as the financial, program, and administrative management of the association and MCI USA’s HCEA support services staff.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree minimum
Demonstrated understanding of association management and volunteer engagement
Experience/Connection with associations with an exhibit hall preferred
Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
Proven quality customer care both internally and externally
Excellent process management and facilitation skills
Responsible for the management and oversight of HCEA activities, programming and in-person events.
Serve as the liaison with other organizations, representing HCEA as approved by the HCEA president.
Work collaboratively with the HCEA Board of Directors as liaison to the President, Officers and program and committee chairs; provide staff reports and other information routinely.
Responsible for the support and coordination of all activities associated with Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and Committees, including staff support for meetings, developing resource materials, meeting schedules, locations, development of recommended agenda, and meeting materials.
In accordance with Board’s overall strategic direction of HCEA, drive marketing and outreach efforts to enhance and grow the organization.
Develop, in partnership with designated HCEA Board members and volunteers and MCI USA fundraising and sales staff, an overall HCEA fundraising plan that will generate funding.
Develop themes and content for association programs and events, working with HCEA volunteers and with Board approval.
Other duties as assigned.
Overall financial management of HCEA, assisting the HCEA Board in developing and implementing the annual and conference budgets, participating on the HCEA Finance Committee, and ensuring compliance with the approved budgets.
Oversee annual budget, including review and approval of expenditures and monthly financial statements, under the direction of the HCEA Senior Advisor, Board of Directors and President.
Oversee and supervise MCI USA HCEA support services staff. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommending the hiring and training of employees; planning, assigning and directing subordinate HCEA support staff work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Oversee projects that involve staff from finance, fundraising and sales, communications and meeting planning areas.
Participate in a “360 review”, or similar process, to ensure MCI USA management and staff receive valuable feedback that will strengthen the relationship and service provided through the contract
MCI USA Responsibilities:
Complete MCI USA/MCI timesheets and function as a MCI USA/MCI Team Member in accordance with MCI USA/MCI’s corporate vision and guiding principles
Serve as a member of MCI USA/MCI’s Client Leadership Team.
