The NAIFA Vice President of Technology is responsible for the overall strategy, execution, and management of information technology and the technology systems that support enterprise goals. Will serve as senior advisor on information technology strategic planning, policies, technology investments, and risk management. Will provide vision of how technology can advance NAIFA business plans while balancing the need to keep current technology operations running efficiently. Will provide information technology leadership to unify and inspire organization stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees the technological infrastructure (networks, computer systems, and telecommunications) to ensure optimal performance and effectiveness.
Collaborates with key stakeholders in the development and execution of strategic and tactical plans for the application of information technology to support NAIFA business objectives.
Reviews project resource demands across the enterprise to ensure technology and operations resources are sufficient to meet them.
Oversees contingency planning and information technology security and compliance by establishing controls and processes for data security.
Develops the IS department’s strategic goals to support organizational goals. Manages, coaches, and supports the IS staff in developing and achieving their individual goals to attain the departmental and organizational goals.
Provides the technology vision and planning process to regularly evaluate existing technology, information systems, and staffing resources; recommend new solutions and technologies.
Selects vendors and manages their performance.
Develops and monitors the annual operating and capital budgets for information and technology systems.
Develops, implements, and maintains a user training program and support system for end users.
Ensures that customer issues are addressed as they arise with utmost courtesy and respect and in a manner that enhances the efficiency and reputation of NAIFA.
B.S. degree in computer science and 7-10 years of increasing technical work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree or professional certification preferred.
Continuing education and technical certification as necessary to stay abreast in the field to ensure that the latest equipment, systems, and techniques are being utilized.
Demonstrated ability to create and implement a technology empowered business strategy.
Proven ability to conceptualize and execute deadline driven projects with strong bias for action, and ability to prioritize multiple and competing projects.
Substantial managerial experience in formulating, planning, leading, directing, and controlling complex, broad, and highly technical functions.
Ability to collaboratively lead change through intellect, influence, and persuasion.
Superior analytical and problem-solving capability.
Excellent knowledge of information technology systems and infrastructure.
Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical material to non-technical managers and end-users.
Familiarity with relational-database technology.
Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
