CompTIA is currently recruiting a talented individual for the position of Senior Manager, Member Communities. Through a deep understanding of the needs of the US and global tech industry, major players in this market, and CompTIA’s membership, product offerings and capabilities, the selected individual will be responsible for developing and fostering woman in tech and tech lifecycle services focused member communities to further CompTIA’s workforce and membership interests. This individual will also act as the industry point person for their communities, serving as a key liaison between membership and the association.
Work location is Chicago, IL, but we will consider strong candidates from other locations.
Build and manage strong workforce and tech industry communities that deliver maximum impact, drives change, fosters networking, and builds effective initiatives through ongoing industry engagement.
Identify and collaborate with strategic partners to further CompTIA’s workforce, membership and industry objectives.
Support & grow CompTIA’s global membership (vendors, distributors, solution providers, associates and IT Pros)
Work across the organization to act as an advocate for membership interests within the association.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent.
Five+ years of experience working in the tech industry.
Five+ years of experience leading large diverse teams of tech professionals.
2+ years of experience building and driving programs that promote women in tech or industry diversity programs.
2+ years of experience building and driving tech industry programs
Strong public speaking skills.
Advanced writing and communication skills.
Strong facilitation skills.
Strong understanding of common technologies and business models found within the tech industry.
Ability to effectively analyze and evaluate the merit of ideas, documents, presentations, and discussion.
