The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) seeks a Vice President of Finance and Administration to provide leadership through management and planning that promote excellence in finance and accounting, information technology, human resources, and facilities. The Vice President’s specific responsibilities fall into the following five major categories:
Strategy, planning, and management
Provide leadership through acting as a strategic business partner to the senior leadership team.
Financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
Lead the development of the budget and three-year outlook in partnership with senior leadership team to maximize resources and deliver on organizational goals.
Financial management and relations
Oversee service areas in finance to ensure quality services and efficiencies through standard operating procedures.
Accounting and information technology
Oversee the accounting and IT departments to ensure proper functioning of all systems, databases, software, and organization readiness.
Provide evaluation of new technologies to promote efficiencies and innovation.
Provide recommendations to the senior leadership team on how and when to make improvements, invest capital, and return on investments.
Human resources and facilities management
Oversee and collaborate with HR to develop workforce strategy focused on achieving current and future business objectives.
Oversee and direct planning, administration, and communication of HR programs and systems that support our employee value proposition and continually improve APIC as a great place to work.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred, CPA required, in addition to a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a VP of Finance or CFO in a $15 million or more non-profit or for-profit corporation and a minimum of 10 years total of accounting or finance experience. Outstanding experience and ability is also required in the following:
GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance and insurance standards, legal requirements and federal grants
Background in leading/coordinating with IT staff to manage/upgrade systems/software.
Hands-on experience with Solomon, iMIS, ADP, and Anybill or other automated AP.
Track record in translating organizational vision into action and positive outcomes
Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues
