The Association of Oil Pipe Lines (AOPL) seeks a Digital Communications Manager to support AOPL’s communications efforts. This position will report to the Vice President for Government and Public Relations and also work with the President and CEO.
The person in this position will work with an industry-wide team of member company communications professionals in support of the industry’s strategic communications goals. The Digital Communications Manager will have the opportunity to interact with senior leadership of pipeline operating companies during industry-wide discussion of strategic communications. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to develop and deploy content that successfully meets the liquids pipeline industry’s strategic communications goals.
Lead development and maintenance of AOPL digital media and web platforms
Lead development of AOPL digital media and web content supportive of the energy sector and expansion of energy infrastructure
Execute social media posting and blogging, content calendars, social media web analytics
Monitor traditional and social media pipeline-related news, events and trends
Lead development of multi-media tools, including videos, to support online activities

Experience with digital communications, including producing content for websites/blogs or channel-specific content (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube)
Expertise using social media analytics and advertising platforms
Excellent written and oral communication, editing and proof-reading skills required
Experience editing and creating video, graphic design, photo editing, cameras and video equipment and web-based content publishing desired
Energy sector or pipeline industry experience desired, but not required
Workplace in Washington, DC is preferred, but not required
Full-time or majority part-time (i.e. 70% of full-time) considered

Additional Salary Information: Starting salary commensurate with experience.
