The Investment Adviser Association, a not-for profit trade association in Washington, DC, is looking for a motivated, tech-savvy, and high performing administrative and tech assistant to support its six-person legal team and the Vice President for Government Relations. The position will report to the General Counsel.
Responsibilities - The administrative assistant will provide tech, logistical, and administrative support. The person will be responsible for:
Updating the association’s website with legal and compliance resources created or provided by the team – the person will not be responsible for content;
Organizing the team’s digital resources, document folders, and database;
Scheduling, coordinating, and providing support to the team for committee meetings, calls, webinars, and conferences;
Onboarding committee members and updating committee rosters;
Organizing the team’s schedules, travel, and expense reports;
Assisting the VP for Government Relations with scheduling, correspondence, and reports;
Assisting in the preparation of surveys and survey reports;
Being the administrative point of contact between the legal team and other departments, including event planning, communications, member outreach, and tech support; and
Other administrative tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate is well-versed in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and is either knowledgeable about website maintenance (html) or is willing to learn. This candidate is also attentive to detail, comfortable balancing multiple projects and tackling unfamiliar challenges, must work well both collaboratively and independently, have excellent judgment and high ethical standards, and be highly invested in the success of the team.
Experience - (an equivalent amount of training, education, and experience may be considered)
2-4 years in a similar role
Extensive knowledge of office automation programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with HTML and Microsoft CRM a plus
