Summary The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks. Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to serving as a liaison between contractors and the internal business unit.

Elicits and translates system and technical requirements
Elicits and documents user requirements
Assists in identifying, reproducing, analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving defects encountered during various stages of project development and delivery.
Coordinates testing and ensures test plans are created and testing is successful.
Schedules and hosts demonstrations of work at the end of each project phase.
Evaluates current application implementations, identifying opportunities to leverage off-the-shelf software to replace/improve current customizations.
Coordinates and leads the documentation of customizations, features, and diagram flows for work completed.
Under minimal PMO Management supervision, manages the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/controlling and closing of small to medium sized projects in support of organizational area's strategic objectives and ongoing operations.
Collaborates with project leadership to determine and document project objectives, scope, approach, resource requirements, budget, metrics, key performance indicators and stakeholders.
Collaborates with project leadership to define project tasks, milestones, and deliverables that meet stated project objectives and conform to initiative methodology standards.
Administration – Under PMO Management Supervision
Prepares and presents a variety of comprehensive documents including business requirement documents, project plans, and business workflows.
Develops and maintains project schedules, and ensures appropriate planning measures are taken including adjusting assignments as necessary to accommodate new issues, scope changes, new work estimates and/or resource availability constraints.
Maintains and analyzes actual costs, time and scope to ensure delivery against the plan.
Monitors and communicates progress, revising task timelines and effort estimates based on project team members task-specific status updates.
Develops communication plan for key messages, project updates, and key decisions that will be used throughout the project.
Communicates and promulgates project management standards and procedures to project team members.
Works with technical lead to specify quality assurance process that will ensure the overall quality and continual improvement of the project deliverables.
Develops and maintains risk analyses process, risk mitigation strategy process, and issue logs for the project.
Ensures projects meet stated metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as defined by project sponsor(s).
Provides work direction and/or supervises staff such as team members, subordinates, contractors, vendors, constituents, etc.
Coaches and mentors staff.
Manages projects ensuring timelines and deliverables are met and meet expectations.
Education and Qualifications
5 – 7 years of Business Analysis or applicable experience required
Bachelor’s degree required
Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification preferred
Experience in Property and Casualty insurance technology and operations preferred. Specifically, experience with Malpractice and/or Professional Liability insurance is a huge plus
Demonstrated business project management skills and success, including cross organizational program management
Demonstrated business analysis skills
Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and establish a high level of credibility across functional and lines of business and organizational levels
Problem solving and root cause identification skills
Strong analytic and decision making abilities
Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization and move toward a common vision or goal
Proven track record of delivering results of high quality and sustainability
Proven ability to lead projects within a matrix environment
Strong Business Acumen, with proven ability to leverage knowledge base to quickly come up to speed in new business areas and new types of projects
