The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), a membership association created to advance the art and science of ophthalmic surgery and the knowledge and skills of ophthalmic surgeons, is seeking a Digital Manager. The Digital Manager will leverage current and emerging digital technologies to accelerate membership development, advance member engagement and provide solutions to colleagues and key stakeholders.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Digital Strategy and Membership Development
Drive and lead development and execution of digital strategies to facilitate membership development, member retention, and online engagement
Develop and implement strategies and tactical programs to engage and influence online audiences
Build strategic and compelling content strategies across a variety of social and digital platforms
Demonstrate deep professional experience digital communications/marketing, with a clear understanding how to apply tools and technology to infuse innovative digital and social strategies into new and existing work
Create, curate and moderate content and conversation strategies to engage online communities
Educate internal peers and external clients of digital and social media trends
Cultivate and foster influencer and advocate networks to catalyze membership growth
Drive growth through SEO, paid search, paid social ads, key word analysis and by applying insights derived via Google analytics, SiteImprove and other evaluative tools
Increase engagement and provide strategic direction of our Higher Logic Communities
Manage Google Grant program
HTML updates, creation and formatting of new sections, general layouts and other standard web-maintenance operations within the enterprise’s Drupal Content Management System (CMS) platform.
Edit HTML templates for email campaigns
Become familiar with and understand the capabilities of web platform from a technical standpoint to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they emerge
Coordinate projects between web-content stakeholders and web development team; prioritize, communicate and maintain expectations related to web development
Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement digital and print membership development and marketing objectives.
Monitor website engagement and apply analytics to enhance user experience
Support web redesign project
Experience, knowledge, and skill requirements:
Minimum of 8 years’ interactive experience; agency or client-side experience
Demonstrated experience building and retaining online communities and driving web traffic by developing and implementing strategic solutions
Ability to spot digital trends and insights to inform responsive content development and programming
Experience with influencer marketing
Solid grasp of social, digital, word-of-mouth marketing, experience across the digital and social space, and knowledge of emerging trends and technologies
Ability to translate social media and digital trends, technologies and metrics into succinct, compelling, conversational language in a variety of formats for various audiences
Experience with search engine marketing and optimization, key word analysis and Google analytic assessments and strategies
Hi proficiency in writing and editing native HTML, and basic proficiency in CSS formatting and troubleshooting
3+ years of experience working within an open source, web-based CMS and/or framework to edit, update and further manage public-facing web content
Experience writing, editing and organizing information for the web.
Experience within Drupal CMS including working with content types, fields, permissions, user accounts and configurations.
Demonstrated experience with Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Microsoft Office Suite, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Salesforce
Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication and collaboration skills
The ability to work under tight deadlines and on multiple projects at once, to take initiative and to work independently or as a team
Ability to engage and persuade current and prospective members online and offline
Strong understanding of community engagement and online campaign experience
Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple project deadlines efficiently
