The National Business Officers Association (NBOA), the only national association focused exclusively on supporting independent school business officers and business operations staff, and fostering financial and operational excellence among independent PK-12 schools, is looking for a talented professional to serve as its Manager, Professional Development Programs.
Reporting to the Vice President, Professional Development and Research, and serving as a key member of the Programs team, the Manager is a new staff role that will provide critical communication to, and coordination with, internal staff and association members to ensure NBOA programs are delivered effectively and efficiently and NBOA members are provided with exceptional learning experiences.
In this role, the Manager will coordinate efforts among staff functions in the areas of content development, meeting logistics, marketing, sponsorship and registration for all NBOA programs. This individual must provide excellent customer service and manage the needs of volunteer speakers who provide content and present for the vast majority of NBOA programs.
Essential responsibilities for this position include:
Develop and lead process for speaker management, and create timelines for all professional development programs
Review, edit and ensure copyediting of all program materials
Collaborate with marketing staff to ensure the development of effective marketing strategies and timely production of marketing collateral
Conduct post-event evaluation surveys and prepare results for presentation, analysis and continuous improvement of future events and member experience
Coordinate with corporate relations staff to ensure that all program sponsor obligations are met and delivered
Serve as back up to respond to member enquiries related to NBOA programs and events
Support attendee badging process
Responsible for program CPE eligibility
Assist with the technical delivery of NBOA webinars and online courses
Provide support to the professional development team as needed
The successful Manager, Professional Development Programs, will have:
A bachelor’s degree
A minimum of five years of full-time work experience in program or project management, preferably in an association environment
The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment and to solve problems in high-pressured situations
Solid relationship management, communications, judgment and organization skills
Passion and commitment to NBOA’s mission and members
The ability to work with distributed staff as a leader, team member and professional role model
