Manages and executes the governance volunteer functions of AAIM, which includes a board, executive committee, five councils, and three sub-councils, as well as committee volunteer administration.
Coordinates all aspects of governance conference calls and in-person meetings, including scheduling, agenda, background materials, minutes, work plans, correspondence, and reports.
Ensures effective committee operations by managing committee structures, rosters, and volunteer waiting lists.
Maintains board, council, and committee bylaws.
Manages annual call for nominations and elections
Key staff liaison to elected and appointed governance volunteers
Liaison to staff on governance issues
Position reports to the Chief of Staff in the Executive Office
At least six years of experience managing multiple nonprofit governance entities (e.g. board, council) or committees simultaneously in a professional or trade association or higher learning environment.
College degree required.
Professionally interact with all levels of staff, members, and leadership.
Able to build relationships and work with volunteers remotely.
Exhibits outstanding interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and discretion regarding confidentiality and politically sensitive information.
Organized, self-directed, self-motivated, detail and deadline oriented.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work activities in a fast-paced environment and meet critical deadlines.
Supervisory experience a plus but not required
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Ability to travel (5%- 10%) to attend meetings
Proficiency using MS Office required.

AAIM has a 25-person staff that serves the needs of these organizations. The staff is organized around teams focused on academic affairs, educational programs, meetings, membership, and finance and administration. The staff works extensively with volunteer leaders to implement projects and programs aligned with the goals and objectives of the alliance and the associations.
