The BIA of Central Ohio is currently seeking applicants for the position of Executive Director.
The BIA is governed by a 17-member voluntary Board of Trustees with representation from local and national homebuilders and associated industry businesses. BIA serves a region of 2 million residents with over 800+ member companies. BIA employs a staff of 6 employees (3 full-time) plus the Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible for the ongoing management and success of the BIA and is responsible for maintaining and promoting important interactions and working relationships with BIA members and affiliates; officials in state and local government roles; the public at large; and members of the media.
The Executive Director establishes and maintains the strategy and objectives (with trustees or managers on staff) for member services including government relations, regulatory compliance, communications, legal, accounting, administration and other assigned functions. This executive is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing member services and programs determined to be valuable to builders and associated businesses, and has primary responsibility for all aspects of the organization including structure, personnel and financial resources. The Executive Director is granted the authority to make decisions and take actions consistent with this Position Profile, within limits established by the Board of Trustees and BIA by-laws.
The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in an association, nonprofit, governmental, legal, political or related organization. This person should demonstrate a proven track record and background of advocacy and lobbying work. Experience with issues regarding the home building industry, construction or land use planning is a plus.?This individual is currently serving as the top executive or other senior-level executive of a comparable organization. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
The Building Industry Association of Central Ohio is a 501(c)6 trade association focused on promoting and protecting the viability of the regional residential and multi-family private sector housing industry to the benefit of builders and associated businesses dependent on the industry in the Central Ohio region.
