The SVP/CFO serves as the primary leader in overseeing the finances and financial strategy of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) which is budgeted to be an $11,000,000 organization in 2018. Working as a collaborative leader alongside staff, the executive leadership team, and the CEO, the SVP/CFO is responsible for managing, reporting and providing financial analysis regarding all fiscal and fiduciary affairs of the organization and its subsidiaries.
Areas of responsibility include:
Preparation/review of financial reports for CMAA and subsidiaries;
Oversight of financial compliance, including tax and audit;
Oversight of banking, insurance and investment relationships;
Develop financial strategies and action plans by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; Oversight of accounting operations, including two staff members; and
Partner with CEO and Executive Staff on the management of multiple business lines.
The successful SVP/CFO candidate will have a service-oriented mindset and a hands-on approach, with a demonstrated capacity and aptitude to work in a highly collaborative and evolving environment. The SVP/CFO will assume the senior-level leadership role managing finance (accounting, budgeting, cash management and reporting) for a multiple-entity organization. A candidate familiar with Abila/netFORUM (AMS/CMR), Great Plains, and Concur Payables systems is ideal.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of broad finance and accounting experience with at least five years of experience as a CFO, controller or equivalent. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business is required. Additionally, skills and qualifications including:
financial planning and strategy; managing profitability; quality management; promoting process improvement; forecasting and developing budgets; and dealing with complexity, as well as the CPA and/or CAE designations, are preferred.
